CALCIVIS LIMITED in Edinburgh, Scotland was granted the CE Mark for its Calcivis Caries Activity Imaging System that detects dental caries using a bioluminescent photoprotein and intraoral detection system. The firm also noted that it completed its 1st clinical trial. These data will be available in early 2015.
2. J. D. POWER & ASSOCIATES in Agoura Hills, California completed its new 2014 Dental Plan Satisfaction Report which ranked dental plans according to customer satisfaction. The top 4 insurance plans in descending order were: 1 UnitedHealthcare, 2 Aetna, 3 Humana & 4 Cigna.
3. KERR TOTALCARE, Orange, California-based member of the Kavo Kerr Group, updated its PerfectPearl contra disposable prophy angles with the addition of the Midnight Series and an updated Classic Series.
4. SUNSTAR AMERICAS in Chicago, Illinois launched its GUIDOR® easy-graft alloplastic bone grafting system in North America. The product has been used over 250,000 times outside the US to handle socket preservation and immediate implant requirements.
