In this month's issue, you'll see highlights from the 15th annual Townie Meeting at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. The meeting continued the tradition of bringing the members of our community together for a family reunion with a healthy dose of education.

Whether you spend time reading this magazine, visiting Dentaltown.com or both, you're a member of our community. No other group opens itself to everyone in the dental profession without collecting membership fees. The issues that our profession faces make it imperative to get together to discuss our viewpoints and learn from each other to ensure a bright future. The website provides 24/7/365 access to your colleagues, and Townie Meeting makes those virtual relationships a reality.

Two ambitious dentists, Drs. Sameer Puri and Tarun Agarwal, founded Townie Meeting after they met each other online at Dentaltown.com. The fun atmosphere they created has been an integral part of this annual event for the past 15 years in Las Vegas. Looking ahead to Townie Meeting 2018, I'm excited to announce our new location: Orlando, Florida! We'll host the meeting April 11–14 at the Hilton Bonnet Creek Hotel. (Disney World is right next door if you want to bring your family, and we'll have activities for our adult guests including golf and the famous Townie Meeting party.)

This is not a permanent change, but an effort to make it easier on our members east of the Mississippi to attend Townie Meeting. In fact, we plan to do what many major dental conferences do and switch up the location of Townie Meeting, varying between host cities in the East, West and even Midwest.

Continuing education is the cornerstone of every dental meeting, and we're putting together a terrific lineup of speakers. I'm thrilled to share that one of our speakers in 2018 will be the legendary Dr. Gordon J. Christensen! He started producing his Practical Clinical Courses in 1981 and is one of the most recognized names in dental education. Additional speakers will be added to the lineup in the coming months. We are planning course offerings that will provide something for your entire dental team, including lectures and hands-on opportunities.

The best discounts for Townie Meeting are offered to people who register early. Visit towniemeeting.com for all the details as they become available!
