Dental professionals from around the world gathered to learn and laugh at Townie Meeting 2017 at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas. Our 15th annual meeting in April took everything from past meetings to new levels—bigger parties, more varied presentations and even better champagne! (Servers passed out free glasses of Veuve Clicquot at our "Black and White: Anything Goes" party.)
We've collected some photos of some of the highlights. (Attendees, do you see yourselves pictured? And those who didn't make it to this year's meeting, here's a look at what you missed.)
We've already set the date for next year's event—and moved it to the East Coast for a fresh new perspective on things! Townie Meeting 2018 is scheduled for April 11–14 at the Hilton Bonnet Creek in Orlando, Florida. Registration is open now, with discounted rates valid through June 30. Wine & Cheese Welcome Reception
Wednesday, April 19
One big benefit to being there the first day of Townie Meeting is our annual reception that features free beer and wine, cheese and other snacks. Townies connected with peers from previous years, met some of this year's presenters and also made new connections in a casual, social setting.
This year's event was sponsored
by CareCredit, which was presented with an award for its consistent support of Townie Meeting over the years.
"Black and White: Anything Goes" Party
Thursday, April 20
Our most unforgettable event yet was at Vortex, an open-air event space at the Linq hotel overlooking the Las Vegas Strip. Townies came to party with free champagne and cocktails, a delicious dinner buffet, and party music that kept the dance floor bumping for hours. Dentaltown founder Dr. Howard Farran honored the night's theme by dressing all in white as the Tooth Fairy, while other Townies showed up in nun's habits, party dresses, and as Cruella de Vil and one of her Dalmatians.
This year's event was sponsored by Zyppah Sleep Certified.
Speakers and Presenters
Throughout the week, Townies also flocked to dozens of presentations by speakers including Fred Joyal, Nancy Adair, and Drs. John Kois, Anne Koch and Ed Zuckerberg. Of course, one of the highlights of Townie Meeting is always Dr. Howard Farran's no-holds-barred keynote address, and this year's talk did not disappoint.
