Six Quick Profit Boosters
Following on from my article of two
weeks ago, I'm going to give you the next three quick profit boosters
you can deploy immediately. Just let me recap on the previous three I
gave you earlier.
- Sell something else to your existing patients or customers, simply
sell something extra, such as a tooth brush, mouthwash etc. simply by
selling something extra to your existing customers will give you an
immediate profit boost.
- Convert patients who haven't been in the practice for more than one year, this
is real low hanging fruit, just call, write to or email all the
patients who haven't been into the practice for more than a year and try
and get them back.
- Increase your prices, so
simple, I would be inclined to keep your point of entry low e.g.
checkup, but everything can be increased by 10% today, just see how many
patients complain. This is a sure fire profit booster
So now here are the next three quick profit boosters.
4. Add Continuity. There
is no better feeling than waking up on a morning at the beginning of
the week, knowing that there is already money going into the bank from
ongoing sales. In dentistry this normally takes the form of a patient
plan, although I will mention others too.
If you can sign your
patients onto a plan, you not only guarantee a monthly income for your
practice, but you will also find that these patients are much more loyal
than those who aren't. It is in effect your club that you are asking
people to join and everyone feels more affinity to a club than simply
being a customer.
Getting your patients to join the club/plan
needs work though. Simply having a leaflet sat on the reception won't
work, just like anything else you have to sell it. This means all your
staff as well as yourself, it doesn't really matter who's plan it is, it
could be Denplan, Privilege Plan, Practice Plan or many others, they all need to be sold.
can be quite simple though, for instance whenever a patient is paying
their bill, simply point out that if they had been on the plan they
would have paid 10%-15% less for it, or when they pay for their
examination, point out that this would have been included.
there are other things too, for instance some of my clients are now
selling the anti-ageing products I promote, all these give you a massive
profit boost and continuity of income.
5. Upsell Again
when you are talking to your patients about the treatment they are
currently undergoing, why not mention that you do whitening, if they
have a gap in their front teeth, they may not be aware that you can
close this for them. Or better still if you are interested, talk to me
about the facial aesthetics I offer, this is such an easy sell and your
patients will love it and can generate £50-100,000 extra profit per
year. Simply selling something else at the point of sale will give you
an immediate profit boost.
6. Highly targeted advertising on Facebook
You can set up a highly targeted Facebook advertising campaign in half
an hour and your ads will start running almost immediately. Facebook
gives you the ability to have an incredibly targeted campaign. For
instance lets assume you are selling facial aesthetics. You can run an
advert which is aimed only at females in your town, between the age of
30 and 65. If you want you can even specify if they are married or not.
