The Twelve Words That Sell (part two)

Number Two In The Words That Sell Your Services

You may not think that you are a copy writer but if you have a web site, or create brochures or write letters to your patients then I’m afraid you are and if you can use words that sell you’re better off than if you just write anything that comes to mind.

Pointing the fingerGood copy needs to be crafted just like anything else you do. What’s the point of going to the trouble of putting information on your website for instance if nobody actually wants to read what you write?

In the first edition of this series of words that sell, I gave you two words/phrases, the first was “How To” which is an incredibly powerful phrase, lets face it if someone is searching Google  for something and up comes your phrase “how to do something” you are almost guaranteed to grab their attention.

The second was “You” which is pretty self explanatory, in that everyone wants to hear about what you can do for them rather than what you do generally.

So without further a due, lets have a look at the third in the series of words that sell.

The third word is a principal or phrase that shows scarcity such as “deadline”, “limited time offer”, “limited supply”, “limited number”.

The reason these words that sell are so powerful is because an offer is not an offer if there is no deadline. What you are trying to achieve with these words that sell is to get people to take action now, not next month or next year.

If don’t put a deadline, people will not take action, just think about the January sales. Because people know that there is a great deal to be had during this month, we flock in our millions to the stores to get that bargain, which will have gone by February.

So for instance if you are offering 50% off the price of teeth whitening, make sure you say for August only or we can only offer 50 of these procedures due to limited stock or something. It must be genuine and if you put a deadline on the offer you must remove it at the end of the deadline.
