At CallForce, we found out that 73% of dental patients have not visited the dentist within the last six months. To put that into perspective, that means that out of the 323 million people that live in the United States, over 235 million of them have not visited a dentist within the last six months. That is jaw-dropping. When broadening our scope to the last 18 months, only 43% or less than half have visited a dentist.

  So why are they not visiting the dentist? According to the American Dental Association (ADA), some of the top reasons include fear of the dentist, and inability to find a convenient time or location. These are legitimate reasons, but they also come with legitimate solutions.  People understand that oral and dental care are important, it is common sense. Sometimes all it takes is the simple reminder of a text, email or a phone call to find that convenient time and location. 

          People are busy and so are dental offices. At CallForce, we found that it takes an average of just over 21 phone calls to schedule one patient. With the patients that are regularly coming in, that’s too many phone calls for reception to handle just to schedule one person. Add that to the busy patients who do not even have the dentist on their mind, we end up with 235 million patients missing out on much needed care.
