The 2008 Townie Choice Awards

And the Winner is...
The 2008 Townie Choice Awards

The results are in, your votes have been cast and counted, and now we are proud to present the results of Hygienetown's 2008 Townie Choice Awards. The Townie Choice Award is the only honor bestowed upon dental hygiene products determined completely by clinicians. This is one way you can voice your product preferences. In the following pages you will see what Hygiene Townies chose as their favorites. The ballot questions have been organized into seven categories to make it easy to find the products you need. With so many products to choose from, deciding was difficult; and in some instances it was a very tight race. You can find the list of runners-up as well as the winners from the past three years on Hygienetown.com. If you are one of the many who voted, thank you for your continued support. If you missed your chance to vote, rest assured you will have a chance to tell us your favorites in 2009 and let your voice be heard!

Congratulations To Our $1,000 Winner, Tammy Gruber, RDH

Voters of the 2008 Townie Choice Awards were automatically entered in a drawing to win $1,000. This year's winner is Tammy Gruber, RDH.

Tammy graduated in the first class from the Utah College of Dental Hygiene in Orem, Utah, in 2007 and currently works full time with Drs. Eric and Scott Harris in Queen Creek, Arizona, not far from the home of Hygienetown.

Tammy was persuaded to achieve a dental hygiene career by her two older brothers who are both dentists, and also introduced her to Hygienetown. She enjoys helping people achieve better oral health as well as overall health and generally feeling good about themselves and their smiles. Tammy also enjoys the flexibility that dental hygiene offers.

Tammy and her husband, Tim, were recently married in September. In her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling, music and exercise. She sings and plays both the piano and flute. Tammy also loves spending time with her family and 18 nieces and nephews.

Tammy considers Hygienetown a valuable tool when questions come up that weren't addressed in school. "It is great to have a resource to help answer questions and help me continually learn" says Tammy. "I love reading the message boards. It makes me feel like I have a great resource of mentors to help me grow in my career." — Marie DeCosse
