Tips for Exploring Hygienetown.com

Whether you frequently post on Hygienetown.com or just meander around the site, we know your life is busy so we'd like to make it a bit easier for you. Here are a few ways to maximize your time on Hygienetown:

Today's Active Topics give you a quick look at what Townies are talking about. Missed a few days, or a week? Catch up by clicking the "Previous" button just above the headline "Today's Active Topics." You can also put a date into the calendar on the page to view a specific day of message boards. Continue this until you are up-to-speed.

The Big Threads at the bottom of the list in the right-side menu under "Message Boards" will show you the message boards organized by the number of views. These are the message boards that have attracted the most attention – both in views and posts.

Views and Replies are the numbers to the right of the message board name (on Today's Active Topics or Big Threads). This will tell you how many people have posted a reply to the original question. It will also tell you how many people have viewed the message board.

Subscribe. It's a quick way to follow the topics you want and keep up with other Townies. You have two opportunities to do this; first when you add a post to a message board you can click "Subscribe" at the bottom of the screen just to the left, below the window where you type your message. You can have new posts go to your account on Hygienetown or directly to your e-mail. If you see a message board you find interesting, you can click the green "Subscribe" button at the top of the discussion, to the right, above the first post.

You can also subscribe to your favorite Townies and never miss one of their posts. When a Townie posts a reply, their avatar or photo appears to the left of the post. Under their information and Merit Badges are three links. Click "Subscribe." You will be given the additional choice to have the person's posts sent directly to your personal e-mail.

With these tools you will never miss a thing on Hygienetown. If you typically just observe, go ahead, jump in and add your opinion to the discussion. Make sure your opinion is counted among the replies, even if it's similar to the opinions already posted. It's a great way to get in the game.

See you on the Hygienetown Message Boards!
