The votes for the 2006 Townie Choice Awards are in! During the month of September, Hygienetown.com members were invited to vote for their favorite products. The ballot was chock-full of great products, making for a few tough decisions and close races, but in the end – through our democratic “One Townie, One Vote” process – the winners were chosen. In the following pages, you will see what you and your Hygienetown colleagues voted the best products and services for the profession. If you didn’t vote this year, fret not, as you will have a chance to make your voice heard next year!
We improve our survey every year and your opinions are essential to the process. Please e-mail your comments with the subject line ‘TCA Comments’ to: trisha@hygienetown.com. Thank you for your continued support of this community. I’ll see you on www.hygientown.com.

Congratulations To Our $1,000 Winner, Jane Weiner, RDH
If you voted for the Townie Choice Awards, you were automatically entered for a $1,000 cash drawing. This year’s winner is Jane Weiner, RDH.
“I love Hygienetown.” said Jane. “I go to the Web site when I have time and read each issue from cover to cover. Both the Web site and the magazine have made me so aware of many of the issues that hygienists around the country are facing and how they are handling the issues.”
Jane graduated from the Forsyth School for Dental Hygienists, Boston, Massachusetts, in 1964 and now presents Board Review courses across the country. She is an adjunct faculty in the periodontics department at NOVA SE College of Dental Medicine in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and has received numerous awards for her many contributions to the Profession of Dental Hygiene: 2003 Distinguished Alumni Award, 2005 Philips Mentor of the Year Award and this year, the 2006 Sunstar Award of Distinction. She and her husband Marty live in Tamarac, Florida, and their children live in New York and Georgia. Jane plans to donate some of her winnings to worthy dental hygiene causes and to buy a few gifts for the family.
Jane is a proud ADHA member; continues to enjoy and contribute to the profession and loves learning something new every day.
