This discussion is a general overview of early diagnosis and the treatment of dental caries. This course explains the paradigm shift in the treatment approach to dental caries and how this has evolved in response to the current understanding of dental caries as an infectious disease. A more precise caries diagnosis and treatment methodology is introduced in combination with the current awareness of the demineralization/remineralization process. To conclude this program, risk assessment, caries management, and products are also shown that promote balance and reduce caries in the oral environment.
