Most of us are more than familiar with the little “hook” that our dentist uses, mercilessly finding everything that shouldn’t be there between our teeth.
This efficient tool was one of the sources of inspiration behind a handy little invention that has been patented and design-protected by the Danish company Dentamin – and is now ready to hit the shelves. The invention in question is a tooth-cleaner which features a unique design that includes a little “hook”.
This hook makes it simple to clean the back surface of teeth – an operation that, when carried out with a normal toothpick, is neither particularly effective nor very pleasant to watch …
Another advantage of the new tooth cleaners is the material of which they are made: environmentally friendly, flexible plastic, which is pleasant to use and never breaks during use. “The latter is unfortunately not always true of wooden toothpicks,” says Jens Bentsen, a Danish dentist.
“On numerous occasions, I have had to dig bits of wood out of patients’ gums on account of splintered toothpicks,” he continues. Jens Bentsen has conducted trials on Dentamin’s new invention at his clinic and has received very positive feedback from patients who have tried the new tooth cleaner.
As a professional, Jens Bentsen is happy to give his vote to the new tooth cleaner.
“I have been a dentist for more than 20 years, and during that time I have seen a whole range of failed oral hygiene products. Some simply did not work, others were too difficult to use. This tooth cleaner, however, is perfect because it is easy to use and its design allows it to reach into all those little gaps that toothbrushes never manage to deal with. This helps to prevent cavities and gum disease,” he concludes.
Another special feature of the tooth cleaner is its point, which has a slightly rough surface. This means that it gently loosens unhygienic layers of plaque from teeth. On the subject of hygiene, the little innovation from Dentamin is available in a pack of 50, with each tooth cleaner packed separately in plastic. It could hardly be more hygienic …
Dentamin tooth cleaners are available from: Dentists, leading drugstores, and leading supermarkets.
But be careful – they can easily become addictive …
