In mid-January Parkell relocated to new expanded headquarters in Edgewood, New York.
A family-owned manufacture/marketer of dental materials (Blu-Mousse, Brush&Bond, C&B-Metabond, etc.) and electronics (ultrasonic scalers, electrosurges, apex-locators), Parkell was founded in Long Island City in 1948 by the late Alex Mitchell. It relocated to Farmingdale two decades years later. Roughly five years ago, it added a 10,000 square-foot warehouse plus a dental office for in-house clinical testing.
According to CEO Karen Mitchell, a major concern in the search for the new facility was that it be large enough to accommodate the company's growing needs, yet close enough to the old location that employees could easily make the commute. "One important objective was to keep 100% of our people." The new headquarters, which is approximately twice a large, is just 15 minutes from the old office.
