A change to Perioscopy Incorporated

Perioscopy Incorporated
“Healing through a better vision”
DentalView started us on our voyage into the most minimally invasive way to visualize the subgingival environment. Our practice has embraced this technology and for more than 5 years now my hygiene staff and I have produced some amazing results for patients who are now periodontally healthy and who have avoided open debridement surgery. DentalView had a “vision” that many of us in dentistry and periodontics were not quite ready for and as a result has left Perioscopy Incorporated with the fortunate opportunity to continue that “vision” for the present and the very bright future.
First and foremost, Perioscopy Incorporated will be providing periodontal endoscopy users with sterile sheaths, endoscope fibers, explorers and repair services, especially for the offices that are dependent upon this technology and have incorporated this approach into their practice philosophy. For the present and near future, Perioscopy Incorporated will not be involved with selling periodontal endoscopic units. There are over 300 DV2 units world wide and it is estimated that less than 100 are really being utilized. That means that many offices are in need of our help! Our plan is to facilitate training, provide practice management input and increase the demand for periodontal endoscopy services. For those practices that want to enter the world of Perioscopy, we intend to facilitate purchases of existing equipment and also coordinate training. If you have DV2 equipment and are interested in selling it, please contact me personally.
Perioscopy Incorporated will be using Danville Materials in San Ramon, California, to coordinate orders of endoscope sheaths and endoscope fibers. Please contact Debbie Simpson, Customer Service Manager at: (800) 827-7940, ext 210, to place your orders. Their business hours are 8am - 5pm pacific time. Terms of payment will be by credit card only.
We are working on manufacturing the endoscope explorers, but that project has not been completed yet.
Service and repairs will be coordinated through our repair facility at the:
Aubrey Group
6 Cromwell, Suite 100
Irvine, CA 92618
Attention: Anthony Shipp
Please send an email to perieau@hotmail.com when you have sent in something for repair OR feel free to email or call me PRIOR to sending in your unit. Customers will not be able to coordinate any of the repair process by phone. Billing will be coordinated for us by Danville Materials and terms of payment will be by credit card only, with the card being charged at the time of return shipment. We will warrant any repairs for 30 days. For the time being, Perioscopy Incorporated will not be able to provide loaners, but will do our best to ensure the shortest turn around times.
We have determined that the major source of repairs has to do with the water flow through the Master Control Unit (MCU). This is due to design problems with the water valve or filters that are in need of replacement. Please do not send in your MCU for this type of problem. This problem can be solved by by-passing the MCU and feeding your water directly into the sheath from a 2 liter bottle system mounted to the DV2 stand. This system is driven by air pressure and controlled by a simple air activated pedal. This modification has been tested and used by our office for over 4 years without fail and provides us with the water flow needed for optimal visualization. After modification the Dental View pedal is then only used for changing the endoscope brightness. Call or email me personally if you have any questions. We can direct you to a company that is making a “plug-and-play” endoscope water modification system that will virtually eliminate any water delivery problems.
I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to serve the present and future providers of periodontal endoscopic services! During the past year we have had some concerns for this technology but be assured the future is bright for the continued and improved “vision” we have for our profession and most of all the patients we serve! Please feel free to call or email me if you have any questions regarding this change to Perioscopy Incorporated.
Respectfully,
John Y. Kwan, DDS
