Oral Health America’s Board of Directors Elects New Officers

ORAL HEALTH AMERICA’S BOARD OF DIRECTORS ELECTS NEW OFFICERS

February 20, 2012, Chicago, IL— Oral Health America’s Board of Directors recently elected two new members, each to serve two year terms beginning February 2012. They are: Dr. Linda C. Niessen, DMD, MPH, MPP, Vice President Chief Clinical Officer, DENTSPLY; and, Michael Orecchia, Vice President – General Manager, Septodont-Confi-Dental Division.

Dr. Linda C. Niessen, DMD, MPH, MPP; DENSTSPLY, Vice President Chief Clinical Officer
Dr. Linda Niessen currently serves as Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer for DENTSPLY International where she oversees Professional Relations, Clinical Education and Corporate Communications. In this role, she launched several innovative clinical education initiatives, and now oversees the Global Student Clinician Research Program (SCADA) and is also responsible for both internal and external communications of the Corporation. Linda holds a faculty appointment as Clinical Professor in the Department of Restorative Sciences at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas. She has also been active in the dental profession throughout her career having served as President of the American Association of Women Dentists, President of the American Association of Public Health Dentistry, President of the Friends of the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research, and President of the Dallas County Dental Society. Dr. Niessen received her Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry ( Phi Beta Kappa) from the University of New Mexico; her DMD, MPH, and Master’s in Public Policy degree (MPP) from Harvard University. She is married and has two sons: one is an ear nose and throat surgeon, and one is a dentist pursuing specialty training in oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Michael V. Orecchia, Septodont-Confi-Dental Division, Vice President – General Manager
Mr. Orecchia currently serves as Vice President – General Manager for Septodont-Confi-Dental Division where he is responsible for operations at its Colorado location. Mr. Orecchia is a senior executive with more than 35 years of experience in the health care industry with an emphasis in both entrepreneurial and multi-national corporate cultures, and specific expertise in operations management, sales/marketing management, market research, product development and sales/management training. Orecchia earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Holy Cross College , and has served in varying capacities for 9 Health Fair, Mother Cabrini Shrine, the Dental Manufacturers of America (President, 1998), and the American Dental Trade Association. He also served as Oral Health America’s 2012 Gala co-chair. Mr. Orecchia’s honors include Who’s Who in Dentistry (1994-1995), International Who’s Who (1994), Who’s Who Worldwide (1992-1993) and the Outstanding Young Men of America (1972)
