Carestream Health Donates KODAK Intraoral Film and CARESTREAM Mobile X-ray System to Aid Haiti Relief Efforts
Company Responds to Urgent Need for Dental and Medical Supplies with Product and Corporate Donations
ROCHESTER, NY, March 9, 2010 — In response to a request for X-ray films, Carestream Health, Inc., the exclusive manufacturer of KODAK Dental Systems, donated 100 boxes of KODAK ULTRA-SPEED Dental Film totaling 15,000 X-rays to Haiti relief efforts. This film donation was delivered through Project C.U.R.E., a nonprofit humanitarian relief organization that delivers donated medical supplies and services to doctors and nurses, and the patients under their care, in developing nations around the world.
“To properly diagnose and treat dental issues, our partners are in need of X-ray film to meet the number of earthquake survivors needing dental care,” said George Roberge, vice president of operations, Project C.U.R.E. “We are very grateful for Carestream Health’s generous donation to Haiti and its people.”
In addition to its dental film contribution, Carestream Health’s medical division also donated a CARESTREAM ITX-560 Mobile X-ray System to help provide medical assistance to Haiti in the aftermath of the earthquake. Ideally suited for emergency situations, the ITX-560 System is wireless, battery-operated and provides instant digital images for the local urgent care center. The unit was delivered to the country in conjunction with Project Medishare, a nonprofit organization providing medical relief in Haiti.
“We are honored to play a part to provide supplies to the dental and medical professionals that are aiding the survivors of this terrible tragedy,” said Rich Hirschland, president, Dental Systems Group, Carestream Health, Inc.
Carestream Health also launched an employee donation matching program that matched each dollar the company’s employees donated to the American Red Cross.
