Team building is a very important aspect of a properly functioning
team. If employees don’t work together to complete the same goal, whether it’s because
they don’t get along, or don’t know one another, the office becomes dysfunctional.
This results in many issues for the office including late due dates,
frustration, and less cooperation in the future. This can be devastating for an
office or private practice while trying to reach financial budgets and annual
goals.
According
to Dr. Dustin Burleson, making sure your employees are spending time together
outside of the office is paramount with insuring employee connection and teamwork.
“I’m a strong believer that all employees can benefit from
time together away from the office… We block out a day out of each quarter for
this purpose,”(Dr. Burleson)
Managers all around are finding success with this teambuilding
technique. Some ideas include but are not limited to local sporting events,
dinners, escape rooms, rock climbing, and outdoor activities. Eventually you’ll
find that your employees feel more comfortable with each other which will yield
stronger teamwork, communication and higher levels of success in the office.
