ESSINGTON, Penn. — All-State Career School in Essington has announced it will expand its current offering of dental programs to include an Associate of Specialized Technology (AST) degree in Dental Hygiene. Classes will begin on October 5, 2020.
The 84-week Dental Hygiene program was launched to support the growing need for Dental Hygienists in southeastern Pennsylvania. Courses will be offered at the Health Science Main Campus in Essington.
The Dental Hygiene program at All-State Career School in Essington provides a combination of classroom, laboratory and clinical instruction, and prepares students to sit for their state licensure exam following completion. To prepare for the program, the campus enlarged its floor plan to include an expansive dental clinic, offering clinical experience to students and preventative dental care to patients.
Dental Hygienists who successfully complete the program and pass the state licensure will be responsible for cleaning teeth, assisting with dental procedures, and educating patients on how to improve and maintain oral health. In addition to dental offices, graduates of the program will find opportunities to work in a wide range of environments including clinical, corporate, public health, research and education settings.
All-State Career School in Essington is part of a network of schools managed by Education Affiliates, Inc. The Essington Health Sciences Campus also offers training for healthcare careers in Practical Nursing, Medical Assisting, Medical Billing & Coding, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Expanded Functions Dental Assisting (EFDA). Other programs offered at the campus include HVAC-R, Commercial Truck Driving and Welding Technology.
