DENTISTS’ CLIMB FOR A CAUSE (DCFAC)SM
Posted: April 15, 2007
For the Tenth consecutive year We Keep on “Hiking Miles for Smiles”

On July 15, 2007, dental professionals and staff from across the nation will assemble at the Base of Mt. Hood to attempt an Ascent of Oregon’s highest point.  Located just east of Portland, OR reaching its 11,239 foot Summit is a challenging and formidable feat.

Funds raised from this effort will be used to Support The DCFAC Dental Education and Treatment Projects in Guatemala and Cambodia.

It is DCFAC’s goal to provide preventive and restorative dental care and education to underserved citizens.  To meet this challenge, DCFAC hopes to raise in excess of $75,000 this year.

Wayne Lavery, CEO of Patient News Publishing, a Canada-based dental communications firm, has been a long-time supporter of DCFAC’s effort.  This year, he’s decided to take his support “to the next level” by actually participating in the Climb.

When asked why he chose to participate this year, Wayne says

“Over the years, I’ve witnessed the accomplishments of DCFAC.  This year, I wanted to  do more than just write a check, and truly participate in this extremely worthwhile endeavor.”

An interesting aside is that much of what Patient News Publishing delivers overlaps with that of the American Dental Company, another dental marketing consultancy that happens to be headed by Daniel (Danny) Bobrow, the same person who is executive director of DCFAC.

“Frankly, I see nothing but good reasons to join forces” writes Bobrow “From a business standpoint, there’s no way two marketing companies could possibly serve the needs of the entire dental population. Plus, the spirit of healthy competition challenges us to outdo the other, which means a better product for our Clients.  Besides, the real driving force behind all this has nothing to do with our businesses; it has everything to do with sharing the benefits of high quality dental care and education to those who otherwise, would have no access.”
