For the Tenth consecutive year We Keep on “Hiking Miles for Smiles”

On July 15, 2007, dental professionals and industry representatives from across the nation will assemble at the Base of Mt. Hood to attempt an Ascent of Oregon’s highest point.  Located just east of Portland, OR reaching its 11,239 foot Summit is a challenging and formidable feat.

Funds raised from this effort will be used to Support The DCFAC Dental Education and Treatment Projects in Guatemala and Cambodia.

It is DCFAC’s goal to provide preventive and restorative dental care and education to underserved citizens.  To meet this challenge, DCFAC hopes to raise in excess of $75,000 this year.

“We’re particularly excited with how this year’s Event has shaped up.” Says Daniel A. ‘Danny’ Bobrow, DCFAC executive director, and president of American Dental Marketing Company “We wanted our Tenth Annual Event to be something special and, from the look of things, I’d say we’ve succeeded.”

For its Tenth Anniversary, the group has pulled out all the stops.  Instead of a one-day event, Participants will engage in four days of activities including a meet ‘n greet, acclimatization hike, and mandatory ‘snow school’ prior to the Summit Attempt.

In addition, attendees will experience a full day symposium entitled The State of the Art in Dentistry Marketing & Patient Communications ‘The Systemic Link,’ which will feature American Dental Marketing’s Bobrow, as well as Special Guests Lorne Lavine of Dental Technology Consultants and Linda Miles of Linda L. Miles & Associates.  Attendees will qualify for 5 hours of CE credit, compliments of Sullivan Schein.

“We’ve got a great and varied group this year.” says Bobrow.  In addition to Miles and Lavine, participants include:

A contingent of 5 climbers from Matsco Financial, headed up by their president, Allison Farey
Patient News Publishing’s President Wayne Lavery of Haliburton, Ontario
Ivan Sanchez, whose book Next Stop: Growing up wild style in the Bronx, published by Simon &
Shuster, is being developed into a Television series
and consultants, dentists, and lay people from across North America

Although having diverse backgrounds and hailing from different parts of North America, these climbers have a couple of things in common: they all agree on the importance of ‘giving back’ and have committed to stepping outside of their comfort zone to do it.
