Pueblo, CO   Stepping Stones to Success, one of the best known names in  charting, informed consent forms, insurance coding and patient education brochures has released a new brochure aimed at helping dental staff talk about implants with their patients. This brochure joins a best-selling series of five other titles designed to help patients understand and accept needed dentistry.

“Implant dentistry is a proven treatment option for patients with missing teeth.  However, many patients do not really understand what an implant actually is or how it functions,” says Stepping Stones President, Carol Tekavec RDH.  “They may have an unrealistic expectation of what an implant can do for them, or they may be so afraid to have one placed that they turn down a chance for a true improvement in their lives.”

“Patients need to be approached in a realistic way when it comes to dental treatment.  Many patients are wary to commit to a treatment plan that includes implants, particularly when they worry about their insurance coverage.  This brochure even addresses that concern!” explains Christie Hobbs, Client Relations Director for Stepping Stones.

Stepping Stones to Success is one of the top practice management sources for practical, economical, and “real world” products in the country.  The Pueblo, Colorado based company helps dental offices deal with every-day practice issues without overextending themselves financially.  “We fill a niche in dentistry,” explains Client Services Director, Julie Buttram.  “Many dentists want high quality, reasonably priced products.  Our products are unique and inexpensive.”

“My goal has always been to provide products that answer the real concerns of dental staff.  I still practice as a clinical hygienist in a general dental office and I know the kinds of expenses offices face and the kinds of questions patients ask.   That is why all of our brochures provide realistic answers to common patient questions but do it in a high-quality, yet inexpensive format,” explains Ms. Tekavec.

Other brochure titles available from Stepping Stones include, “My Insurance Covers This…Right?”, “What is the Difference Between a “Regular” Cleaning, a Root Planing, and Periodontal Maintenance?”, “What is a Debridement?..Can’t I Just Have my Teeth Cleaned?”, “Your Mouth Can Make You Sick!-How Conditions in the Body are Related to Conditions in the Mouth”, and “Crowns, Veneers, Inlays, and Onlays; Why Can’t I Just Have a Filling?”

Formed nearly 25 years ago, Stepping Stones to Success provides paper dental charts, informed consent booklets, brochures, and more to thousands of offices throughout the U.S.  The chart itself has been endorsed by the Colorado Dental Association and others.  In addition, Ms. Tekavec, as the company president, provides seminars on insurance and records, is a consultant for the ADA Council on Dental Practice, and has been named in Dentistry Today’s “Top Clinicians in Continuing Education”.  She was also the insurance columnist for Dental Economics magazine from 1995-2006.
