MELVILLE, N.Y., March 18, 2010— Leadership from New York-based dental associations, New York State elected officials and Henry Schein Dental team members joined together in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic for the annual 2010 Diversity Dental Forum, held March 4-7. Attendees discussed numerous topics pertinent to health care professionals and patients today, including access to oral health care and methods to encourage students in junior high schools and high schools to pursue a career in dentistry. Attendees also addressed current and future needs of diversity dental associations, their membership and patients, such as lack of minority candidates for some dental residency programs and the high cost of dental school.
