National Children’s Oral Health Foundation and Spear Education Announce Partnership to Benefit At-Risk Teens
(Charlotte, NC—June 24, 2010) National Children’s Oral Health Foundation: America’s Toothfairy? (NCOHF) and Spear? Education have formed a partnership to give promising at-risk teens a brighter future through the NCOHF Tomorrow’s SMILES? program.
Tomorrow’s SMILES? was created and initially funded by a gift from Dr. Ronald Goldstein, a highly respected clinician, author and lecturer. Through this partnership, Spear Education is leading national recruitment efforts to assemble volunteer Tomorrow’s SMILES clinicians among its renowned faculty and clients. In addition to providing comprehensive restorative functional and esthetic treatment for students without the financial means to pay for the services, Spear volunteer dental professionals will educate students about the importance of good oral health and offer guidance on maintaining their healthy Tomorrow’s SMILES. In return, Tomorrow’s SMILES students share these valuable lessons with elementary school children through the program’s Pay-It-Forward component, ensuring that good oral hygiene habits are instilled early in a child’s life.
“Spear Education is thrilled to be a part of NCOHF and all they do for underprivileged children in our communities. It’s been a goal of the Spear Education organization to stay involved at all levels within our local community, on a national level, and even globally, and we see NCOHF as a pivotal piece of this goal,” expressed Kaleim Manji, Managing Director, Spear Education.
Fern Ingber, NCOHF President and CEO, stated, “We are honored that Spear Education is partnering with NCOHF to create healthy, happier smiles through our Tomorrow’s SMILES program. By donating their time and services, Spear faculty and clients will renew patients’ self-esteem and encourage a newfound responsibility for oral health. With this partnership, Spear Education is giving underserved teens across the nation the tools for a successful future.”
