QUALSTAR TO EXHIBIT NEW TOUCHLESS MOUSE FOR DENTAL APPLICATIONS AT THE CDA PRESENTS THE ART AND SCIE

Touchless Mouse Fights Cross Contamination in Dental Offices
Posted: August 26, 2010

SIMI VALLEY, Calif., August 26, 2010 — Qualstar® Corporation (Nasdaq: QBAK), today announced that it will be exhibiting a new computer mouse based on its patent-pending touchless pointing technology at the California Dental Association Presents the Art and Science of Dentistry convention. The convention is being held in San Francisco, California, on September 9-11, 2010. Qualstar will be exhibiting in booth #941.

The touchless mouse, called

Topo Jojo™, represents a new approach to preventing cross contamination in dental offices and other medical environments. Unlike a traditional mouse, this device uses infrared sensor technology to detect the user’s finger motion in the air to control movement of the cursor on any display or laptop screen. Touch-free control totally eliminates operator contact with any surface as with a traditional mouse, thus eliminating a major risk of patient-to-patient bacterial contamination.

"Dental practitioners have long been pioneers in reducing cross contamination in clinical settings," said Bill Gervais, Qualstar President and CEO. "With computers and digital technology becoming more and more integrated with the delivery of dental care, the traditional computer mouse has become a significant source of contamination risk in medical environments. Our touchless mouse is the next step in preventing cross contamination and can lower the risk to both practitioners and patients in today’s data-centric dental offices."
