Hayes Handpiece Now Offering Practical Hands-On CE Courses to Improve Staff Productivity and Patient Safety

CARLSBAD, CA—Hayes Handpiece is now offering four practical hands-on CE courses to improve staff productivity and patient safety. Courses currently offered are: Handpiece Maintenance, Instrument Processing, Operatory Systems Maintenance (including waterlines, vacuum lines and air pressure), and CDC/OSHA Pain Relief. Breakfast or lunch is included upon request, and one online CE credit is available for each one-hour course through Hayes and Dentrek, at no cost to participants.

During each of the handpiece and instrument courses, Hayes maintenance experts cover recommended cleaning, lubrication, and sterilization procedures. The Operatory Systems Maintenance course reviews the importance of cleaning your dental unit waterlines, in addition to treating the water. Vacuum line maintenance and proper air pressure ranges are also discussed. CDC/OSHA Pain Relief focuses on key areas and practices to avoid a stressful audit.

“Originally we offered our handpiece maintenance demonstrations as a way to reduce handpiece warranties,” said Joe Hayes, CEO of Hayes Handpiece Co. “What we found through interactions with our customers, was a significant need for answers to numerous equipment and dental office maintenance questions, not just related to handpieces exclusively.”

According to Hayes, “Recommendations from manufacturers, OSHA, and the CDC have changed over the years, and doctors want their staff well-trained in best practice maintenance and infection control procedures, without the confusion and headache.”
