Live Oak Bank sponsors the 2011 Miss North Carolina International to assist her in promoting pediatric dental care

June 8, 2011- Wilmington, NC – Brittney Clark is more than a just another pretty face; she has dedicated herself to preserving them. Clark, also the current Miss North Carolina International.is a full-time dental hygiene student at AB-Tech. Outside of class, she acts as the Mission Children’s Hospital Tooth Bus Spokesperson, the Goodwill Ambassador for the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry “Healthy Smiles, Healthy Children” Program and works part time at the Great Beginnings Pediatrics dental office.
In an effort to promote her platform, Brittney attended the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry in New York City over Memorial Day weekend. “I knew that it would be a great opportunity to find supporters to assist me in educating our youth about the importance of good oral health,” said Brittney. “Live Oak Bank reached out to me and wanted to become a sponsor. I was thrilled that they were willing to help finance my cause.”
“As an active member of the dental community, Live Oak Bank feels that it is important to back Brittney’s efforts,” commented Keith Merklin, Live Oak Bank’s Sr. Loan Officer. “We are a small family bank. When we support something, we believe in it. It was easy to applaud her for the time she is volunteering to assist these great organizations and her desire to make a difference with children.”
In 2007, Live Oak Bank started to provide veterinary business loans to small, independent businesspeople looking to expand, remodel, refinance and/or acquire an existing practice. From the beginning, we took a personal approach and saw our clients not as numbers, but as real people facing real-life opportunities and challenges. We offer big bank expertise but provide personal attention to all of our customers to ensure their long-term success. It worked - for us as well as our clients - and we expanded our veterinary funding programs to serve the needs of private pharmacies and dental offices across the country.
