Hu-Friedy Introduces 25K Ultrasonic Thin Insert
Thinner, Stronger Swivel XT™ Eliminates Tenacious Deposits in Hard-to-Reach Areas
CHICAGO, IL – November 22nd, 2011- Hu-Friedy, a global leader in the manufacturing of dental instruments, announced today the addition of the 25K Swivel XT™ Ultrasonic Insert Line, a thinner, stronger insert that can reach and remove tenacious debris from interproximal and subgingival areas. The Swivel XT was originally introduced in December 2010, in a 30K version.
Traditionally, thin inserts are recommended for light deposit removal. However, subgingival deposits are often times tenacious and very difficult to remove. Hu-Friedy’s Swivel XT™ is thin enough to clean subgingivally and interproximally, but also robust enough to efficiently and effectively remove moderate to tenacious calculus at lower power settings. The Swivel XT™ features a large-diameter grip that maximizes clinician comfort and enhances tactile sensitivity, plus the instrument’s durability is enhanced through a proprietary blend of stainless steel.
In a recent survey of clinicians who tried the Swivel XT™, 91% rated it as excellent/good for the removal of moderate deposits, and 73% rated it excellent/ good for the removal of tenacious deposits. What’s more, 94% rated it excellent/good in terms of patient comfort, and 77% preferred the Swivel XT™ to competitive offerings.*
Ron Saslow, CEO of Hu-Friedy, “We are excited to now offer the Swivel XT insert in two options, so both our 25k and 30k magnetostrictive device users can benefit from this innovation. It is important that clinicians have access to instrumentation that facilitates their ability to deliver optimal patient care and the Swivel XT™ is the latest in a long line of innovations that we are proud to bring to the dental professional.”
