American Eagle has a full range of curettes and scalers with XP technology
American Eagle has a full range of curettes and scalers with XP technology. Through nano technology, a new surface has been created to produce instruments that last so much longer, that it is economically feasible to throw them away before having to sharpen them. The elimination of sharpening means that, for the first time ever, the instrument in use never loses its shape.
In fact, for the hygienist who specially likes her 'older and well-sharpened' instruments because they are so thin, American Eagle have started producing special thin versions of the scalers.
But now, XP had led to another revolutionary idea: the Double Gracey. This complicated instrument would normally be impossible to sharpen correctly. But XP technology has eliminated sharpening.
The Double Graceys have a raised ridge in the centre of the face, thereby creating 2 faces, each of which is a true Gracey.
A set consist now of only 2 instruments:
The Anterior covers all anterior AND lingual/buccal curettage.
The Posterior covers all mesial AND distal areas.
There is a 2nd version available: the Minis (equivalent to After-Five™ or Access) have shanks that are 3mm longer, with smaller tips for better and deeper access.
Less instruments in use and less instruments in the tray, less time wasted and a lot of money saved - and so much easier.
It was found that it takes an average of 5 procedures for the operator to get used to the new technique.
More efficient curettage will always follow, when such instruments are used.
