Inspection Tip of the Day: Medical Emergencies Anaphylaxis

Stop all Dental procedures being done on patient if showing the following symptoms: difficulty
breathing and wheezing, hives (generalized flushing, or redness of the skin), swelling of the
throat, lips, tongue; tightness/change of voice; difficulty swallowing, tingling sensation, itching
or metallic taste in mouth, feeling of apprehension/agitation

• Call Out Bravo + Room or Operatory
• Think ASAP:1 hour for Pre-hospital, Transport, and Treatment

This is only a small amount of information on signs and symptoms.   Per OSHA; you need someone trained at all times in your dental healthcare providers office.  Even during lunch as this is about Staff Safety when dealing with OSHA and Patient Safety when dealing with The Board of Dentistry.

Stay Safe!
