Inspection Tip of the Day: First Aid
In case of Amputation:?

Care for the Patient:
1. Wash hands with soap and water and put on nitrile
gloves
2. Apply firm, steady pressure to the bleeding site.
3. Apply dressing and press
4. If bleeding doesn’t stop, place tourniquet 2-3 inches closer to the torso from the bleeding.
5. If bleeding does not stop, apply a second tourniquet closer to the torso from the first tourniquet.

Example of Amputation is a Motorcycle Accident.
This is only a small amount of information on signs and symptoms.   Per OSHA; you need someone trained at all times in your dental healthcare providers office.  Even during lunch as this is about Staff Safety when dealing with OSHA.  And Patient Safety when dealing with The Board of Dentistry.
