Which of the following is NOT true about acetaminophen?

  1. it is analgesic
  2. It is antipyretic
  3. It is anti-inflammatory
  4. All of the above

Answer: C. It is anti-inflammatory

Acetaminophen (Tylenol) is an antipyretic (fever-reducing) and analgesic (pain-relieving) agent, but is not anti-inflammatory.
One other important fact to know about acetaminophen is that the drug does not affect blood coagulation, therefore is the drug of choice if the patient is on a blood thinner.

NSAIDs such as Aspirin or Ibuprofen are antipyretic, analgesic, and anti-inflammatory.
