How to Whiten Your Teeth Naturally

How to Whiten Your Teeth Naturally

One of the first things that people notice about you is your smile. That is why having white and healthy looking teeth is so important to so many people. Problem is, it is so easy to stain your teeth with some of your favorite foods. Did you know that wine and coffee could be a reason for your dimming smile? I know, that stinks! It can be difficult to find the funds or the time to go get your teeth professionally whitened, so do it yourself teeth whitening methods are becoming increasingly popular. Here are a few tricks to try if you need your teeth a few shades lighter for a special day without having to go out and drop a load of cash.

Charcoal

The thought of brushing your teeth with something black is a terrifying idea for some. But, many companies are now selling activated charcoal toothpaste to help brighten that smile of yours.  It works due to the fact that activated charcoal is more abrasive than the regular ingredients found in normal toothpaste. So, when you brush with charcoal or a special toothpaste, you could potentially brush away more plaque.

There is also a way to create a charcoal toothpaste at home. You can do this by mixing the charcoal powder with your normal toothpaste. Another option is to mix the charcoal powder with coconut oil, which is said to help reduce tooth decay. That is a win-win in my book!

Always remember to use charcoal products in moderation when it comes to your tooth health. When brushing your teeth with more abrasive products, it can cause damage to your enamel. Be careful and follow the recommended instructions.

Baking Soda

Chances are if you go into your kitchen, you will be able to find some baking soda. It is a staple product in most homes, and for good reason. It has so many uses! One of those uses being that it can help brighten up those pearly whites. Baking soda has natural whitening abilities, which is why it works! It also is mildly abrasive, which can scrub away plaque.

When using this method, all you have to do is mix pure baking soda with water to create a paste. Brush your teeth with the paste a few times a week and wait for the change to come. It can take a few weeks before you notice a difference, so plan accordingly if you’re wanting a whiter smile for a special occasion.

Banana Peel

This method can seem bananas, but some people swear by it! When you are on your next grocery run, make sure to grab a few extra bananas. After you eat them for a nice and nutritious breakfast, make sure to hold on to the peel. According to some experts, the inside of a banana peel is rich in potassium, magnesium, manganese, and other minerals. These magical things are said to whiten teeth naturally!

After you are finished brushing and flossing, simply take the peel and start to rub it all over your teeth. Do this for two minutes before you rinse. Repeat this process one more time before bed. The difference will be gradual and will take some time. I really hope you love bananas!

There are so many ways to achieve a whiter smile without having to drop hundreds of dollars. When it comes to your teeth, you deserve to feel confident with your smile. Always be sure to do your research on whitening methods before doing them. You want to be sure to not cause any damage to your smile! Remember, no method is pure magic. Like every great thing in the world, it takes time. Don’t feel discouraged if it takes a few weeks to notice a change, it is coming! Just keep brushing and flossing to keep your teeth and gums as healthy as they can possibly be.
