I am not a dentist. I am not a dentist.
“No, I am not a dentist...”
Another group I am in is discussing the future of dentistry. Myself (and others) stated that we believe the future is bright. A difference of opinion about the current state of dentistry had a doctor asking how I could possibly know anything if I am not a dentist and I am “just a sales rep”.
I wasn’t even the one arguing about his opinion. I told him I respected his opinion, and hoped to be someone that would make a difference for the next generation of dentists.
I’m not a dentist. But everything else dental is in my blood. I’ve attended hundreds of hours of CE events and read scientific articles and studied materials and techniques like every good dental nerd. I grew up with my Dad in the business. Before composite and self tech and bulk fill. Before curing lights. Before gloves and masks were popular and most dentists performed a lot of their own hygiene. Dentistry was “only when it hurt”...
I dream about it. I empathize on the problems to the point that I stress right beside my brethren. I see corporations taking over. I understand the tight labour market. I see expenses rising.
So I use my expertise to guide others on how and why corporations are buying. Teaching the business of dentistry. I start a Facebook group to help alleviate the labour shortage and a community where we help each other! I perform audits and consult practices how to increase production and reduce overhead. Sponsor (meaningful) CE events
I drive my bosses (and friends) nuts with crazy ideas. Always trying to improve dentistry. Encourage a great attitude. Believe there is better and brighter yet to come.
I sincerely believe it.
I am NOT a dentist. I am not a dentist. I am just Warren, a passionate believer in the future of dental health care trying time make a difference.
Let’s change the attitude, and make the future better than its ever been.
